Dickson Aquatic Centre and Triathlon ACT have joined forces to bring the most accessible triathlon event to the community this Canberra Day.

A 50m swim (any stroke, any style and with support if you need), then a 200m run or walk will all take place within the Dickson Pool grounds.

This is a community focused event, for anyone over the age of 7, catering for both first time participants and seasoned professionals.

Participants will be fully timed and get the chance to run the course twice as part of their entry so they can get the nerves out of the system.

“We are excited to be able to present an event that is so accessible for people of all ages and fitness levels to try our sport – but can also be a real test for our athletes in a sprint format”, said Emily Stacey, Sport Development Manager at Triathlon ACT.

“The Weetbix Kids TRYathlon is coming up and this is the perfect chance for kids to hone their skills.”

Both organisations have had many event cancellations over the summer and are looking forward to an event that will bring the community together again.

“Our pool is a focal point of our community, we love that everyone can join in the fun of this aquathlon. We can’t wait to see the kids take on their parents or the friendly competition as our lap legends vie for aquathlon glory,” said DAC Manager Chris Graham.
